Meet Dani — The Heart Behind Plot Twist Mom

Hey friends! If we haven’t met yet, I’m Dani — an almost-but-not-quite 40-year-old Michigander navigating life with a whole lot of grit, humor, and heart.

I’m a proud boy mom to two incredible kiddos and have been married to my husband for 14 years. Our journey has been filled with some of life’s highest highs and some gut-wrenching lows — infertility, child loss, and two breast cancer diagnoses (both within six years.) But through it all, we’ve learned to hold tight to each other and find strength in the chaos.

Our youngest son was born with Connexin 26, the most common form of genetic hearing loss. He is profoundly deaf and has bilateral cochlear implants — and he’s thriving in mainstream school. We’re passionate deaf advocates and work hard to make sure the world sees what we’ve always known: hearing loss doesn’t limit joy, success, or potential.

These days, you’ll find me spending hours on the baseball fields as both a baseball mom and a coach (seriously, it’s my second home). When I’m not at the ballpark, I’m nose-deep in a book — I’m an avid reader and love sharing honest reviews and recommendations.

I’m also a published author and the voice behind Coffee Chaos and Giggles, a blog where I share everything from easy family recipes to life hacks and heartfelt reflections.

I started Plot Twist Mom as a way to share the real stuff — the twists, turns, and transformations that life throws our way.
