An Open Letter to My Husband on Our 15th Wedding Anniversary

15 Things I Love About You

To my husband,

Fifteen years ago, we stood in front of the people we loved and promised forever. We were young, hopeful, and had no idea what life would bring us. We couldn’t have known the joy, chaos, heartbreak, laughter, lessons, and love that would fill these years. We couldn’t have known the challenges we’d face or the strength we’d need. But here we are—15 years later—and if I had to choose all over again, I’d still choose you.

Today, I want to celebrate you by sharing 15 things I love about you.

1. I love the way you loved me through cancer.

When life got scary, uncertain, and heavy, you never flinched. You carried me when I couldn’t carry myself. You showed up in every way possible—with strength, patience, and love.

2. I love the father you are.

You are not just present—you are engaged. You care deeply, you listen, you teach, and you show our boys every day what a good man looks like.

3. I love watching you be a travel baseball dad.

Early mornings, long weekends, miles on the road, practices, games, snacks, gear, and endless support—you do it all with pride because loving our kids is never an inconvenience to you.

4. I love how hard you work for our family.

You carry responsibility with quiet strength. You work hard not for recognition, but because you love us and want to provide a good life.

5. I love the lessons you teach our kids.

You teach them accountability, kindness, grit, humility, and how to treat people right. Those lessons will outlive all of us.

6. I love your loyalty.

In a world where loyalty can feel rare, you are steady. Dependable. Trustworthy. You are someone people can count on—and I never take that for granted.

7. I love your sense of humor.

Even in stressful seasons, you know how to make us laugh. Sometimes it’s sarcasm, sometimes it’s perfect timing, and sometimes it’s just being you.

8. I love how you protect us.

Not just physically, but emotionally. You make our family feel safe, steady, and cared for.

9. I love your patience.

Marriage, parenting, and life can be messy—but you show patience in ways that often go unnoticed and deeply appreciated.

10. I love the way you love our boys.

The hugs, coaching, guidance, roughhousing, cheering, correcting, encouraging—you are helping shape their world.

11. I love that you show up.

You show up when it’s easy, and more importantly, when it’s hard. That matters more than grand gestures ever could.

12. I love your resilience.

Life has thrown challenges our way, yet you keep going. You keep leading. You keep believing better days are ahead.

13. I love the life we’ve built together.

It may not be perfect, but it’s ours. Full of memories, lessons, laughter, and love.

14. I love who I am with you.

You’ve loved me through different seasons of life—strong seasons, broken seasons, joyful seasons, and painful ones.

15. I love you more now than I did then.

Because now my love is built not just on romance, but on history. On weathered storms. On shared victories. On forgiveness. On friendship. On choosing each other again and again.

Happy 15th Anniversary

Thank you for being my safe place, my teammate, my family, and my forever. Thank you for loving me in sickness and in health, in chaos and calm, in ordinary days and unforgettable ones.

We’ve built something beautiful.

And after 15 years… I still choose you.
