Summerfest in Milwaukee

At the end of July, I was able to travel to Milwaukee for a work conference for a few days. This was only my second time to the city, and again it did not disappoint. There was a ton of great food, drinks and beautiful views to take in.

Though most of my days consisted of conferences, one of the highlights of my trip was Summerfest.

Here are a few photos and information from this highly-anticipated annual event.

Summerfest

Summerfest debuted in 1968, it has quickly evolved into what is recognized today as “The World’s Largest Music Festival” and it is also known as Milwaukee’s biggest and most anticipated summer celebration. Summerfest hosts of the music industry’s hottest starts, emerging talent as well as local favorites. According to the Summerfest website, it’s estimated that nearly 850,000 people from Milwaukee and around the world each year come around for the music experience. There are more than 800 acts, 1,000 performances, 11 stages with which performers use, food, beverages and interactive activities for people of all ages.

This year was my second year in a row where I have been able to take part in this amazing experience. It certainly did not disappoint.

Here are some photos of the incredible food and drinks I got to sample.

The views of Summerfest are also totally worth the trip. Summerfest takes place right by the lake and for the past two years, the weather had been gorgeous.

There is also a ton of things for kids to do and plenty of entertainment for all. From over-sized interactive yard games, to jump houses, face painting, karaoke and more there is literally something for everyone.

There are several tents with live music, but the the best live music (in my opinion) takes place at the Briggs and Stratton Big BackYard stage located near the front of the festival entrance. Some of the same groups perform each year, and the one below is a favorite. I’m not sure what the group name is, but they are so good.

I highly recommend making the trip to Summerfest. They bring in a lot of big artists and they go out each year to ensure visitors have an amazing time.

Have you ever been to Summerfest? What’s your favorite part?
