Ten.
Ten.
Ten years have come and gone in a flash,
like lightening striking the ground, branding it
Ten years of growth and lessons learned,
a constant reminder that marriage takes work, patience and that it shouldn’t be taken lightly
Ten years of laughter and joy,
which reminds us of the importance to never stop having fun
Ten years of dreaming and wishing,
reaching for the moon, yet trying to land amongst the stars, stretching
Ten years of change and maturing,
a small reminder that growth can be uncomfortable, although necessary, yet worth it
Ten years of career changes and moves,
always reaching, stretching for something more, something that resonates deeply within our core
Ten years of love and affection,
needed to sustain what has been grown and cared for throughout the years and has yet to grow
Ten years of loss, diagnoses and illnesses,
a painful truth that life is short and shouldn’t be taken for granted
Ten years of arguments and tears,
necessary for us to listen actively, learn better and live in deeper, meaningful ways
Year after year we continue to stand,
although we have faltered and fallen, we’ve stood back up,
brushed off our knees, ready to fight another day.
Ready to tackle and overcome
the seemingly impossible tragedies and misfortunes of life, together.
Ten years of fighting for marriage, for family, for faith, for love and for each other.
Ten.
