Easter in Quarantine 2020
Easter this year was one for the books. We were quarantined in our homes, forced to be away from our families, and gosh darn it, we felt it. We felt isolated and alone, yet we made the best of it. The weather ended up being absolutely beautiful, so we enjoyed the day as a family of four. After the boys investigated their Easter baskets and went on a small Easter egg hunt indoors, we took the hunt outdoors where 38 eggs were hidden throughout the yard. It was still a bit chilly, but we did the hunt early intentionally, because it was originally supposed to rain. The boys loved it. Beckett is getting to the age where he really understands the point of the hunt, and Braxton was awesome and assisted his little brother with finding eggs for him. He made it a point to ensure that they each had about the same amount of Easter eggs. After the hunt, we did a few projects inside and each got in a workout until the weather cleared up.. The rain that was expected to hit us in the afternoon never hit, so after Beckett’s afternoon nap, we spent the majority of our afternoon and early evening outdoors. We enjoyed a long walk through our neighborhood, a nice home cooked meal and games in the evening. It really was a nice Easter all things considered. It certainly was tough being away from family. Braxton missed going to his grandma and grandpa’s house and having an Easter Egg hunt, but we’re doing our part in trying to flatten the curve again COVID-19 but staying home and social-distancing as much as possible.
Here are some photos from our day.

The kids basically jumped out of their beds as soon as they woke up and ran down the stairs to find their Easter Baskets. Here they are checking out their Easter Baskets. They got an array of Easter candy, bubbles, fun animal/dino bracelets, colorful sidewalk chalk, coloring books, play-dough, matchbox cars, slime, an Easter themed book and more. Needless to say, they were quite happy with their baskets.
Here are the boys baskets pictured together. I put them together the night before. The second picture is Braxton’s, and the last one is Beckett’s.
We played outside a ton as the weather was sunny and nearly 60 degrees. We went for a long walk around the neighborhood, and Braxton even ran for a majority of it. He’s been really getting into running and working out. He’s been watching his dad and I workout, and he has been asking a lot of questions. I dig it!
Here’s our Easter Photo. We snapped this selfie before we went on our long walk.
After we played outside, for what seemed like hours, I came inside and prepared dinner. We kept it pretty simple. I made BBQ seasoned ribs, a salad with a side of bread and fruit. It was delicious.
After dinner, the kids enjoyed an Easter cupcake.
It was a pretty good day. The kids were pretty wild (thanks Easter Bunny ;), but we had fun as family. We can’t wait to see the rest of our family again soon.
I pray you all found peace in the quietness that this quarantined Easter brought to us all.
Last, but not least, here’s out big boy, Carter enjoying the backyard with his humans.
